Poetry Cafe!

This week we celebrated our love of poetry with our families. Each child shared at least 2 of their favorite poems from their completed units. We had a fabulous breakfast celebration with coffee, hot chocolate, donuts, and muffins! Thanks to all who made this happen! Enjoy the photos.

Some of our parents. We had a great turn out!

Aren't they wonderful!?

February 6-10

This week we studied static electricity, had fun with our Kindergarten buddies for Valentine's Day, practiced finding area in Math, continued with our poetry unit (including Alliterations), and started a special writing assignment to each other.
See below for photos.
These children are such devoted learners!
Static electricity fun!

Brady got the first static charge.

The balloon loved Bonnie.

Having a great time in Science.

A very fun Science tool!

Your children saying, "I LOVE you"!

Kindergarten fun- they had to stay linked and collect hearts from all over the gym.
Bonnie and her friend giggled the entire time!   :)
Then, they calculated how many points that they earned with the little hearts being worth one
point each, the bigger hearts worth 5 points each, and the outlined hearts being worth
10 points each. Charlie and his buddy had so much fun!

In Math, students chose a word for the holiday season and cut the letters out of graph paper,
pasted them down and calculated the area of each letter. These are in the hall outside
of our classroom. Make sure to check them out!

Noah's finished project. The area of each letter is on the inside of the flap.

Each morning, students have been given one classmate's name and then they write what they admire
or appreciate about that person. The cards are all collecting in this box until Valentine's Day.
The kids have really done a nice job with this! I can't wait to hand them out!!

Our Alliteration anchor chart- students made their own alliterations for their names.
They are so clever!

Students made their own stick sets to answer multiple choice questions in class in an easy manner. The kids love using these. Miss Autumn is so proud!

We shared the flip book reports that we wrote this month.
Your children continue to amaze me with their creativity.
